Let me tell you something.  

Out of all the cosplays I do most of them are male and I am female. While my parents aren’t exactly against it, I have had the comments of “So this one will be a girl?”  or “You looked so good in the skirt with the last one why did you go back to pants?”

Cosplay who you want to cosplay and why you want to cosplay.  I cosplay to pay tribute to the characters I relate to the best and to test my ability to act as them.  I don’t cosplay as girls because I am female.  I cosplay as characters because I have a similar personality type.

Never let someone make you feel bad for who you want to cosplay.  If you are female and want to cosplay a dude, do it.

If you are male and want to cosplay a girl, do it.

If you are muscular and want to cosplay someone scrawny, do it.

Don’t let who you are physically hinder what you can do that makes you happy.  Cosplay is an art form and it shouldn’t be hindered by who we are.

if you’re suggesting that my cosplay is ruined because in this specific gifset i’m using a sword fionna hasn’t been cannonly been seen with……..

her crystal sword, the one most fionna cosplayers carry, was a trick sword that was destroyed at the end of the episode “Fionna and Cake”. using that sword suggests you are portraying fionna at a time where she was unaware and confused about pg’s strange behavior. (i HAVE this sword anyways)

her other, unnamed swords, used in “Bad Little Boy” are a good choice, but because their design is rather neutral, they’re less recognizable by the fandom.

then there is her wishing sword, which is canon from the Fionna and Cake comics, but has little refs for anyone trying to make it. (unfortunately i AM trying to make it right now pft)

sure there are other designs for fionna’s sword, but fionna never “had” them, cake only designed them. according to your philosophy, that’d be incorrect.

considering there are very limited swords that fionna has been shown with, it’s entirely reasonable to use finn’s weaponry. fionna is a genderbend who’s only differences from finn are her outfit and companions. she lives in the same home, has the same vocabulary, same activities, etc. why wouldn’t she own the same famous sword as finn?

You are my favourite  person in the world right now and I feel like cosplaying again.  Rude people like btm are the reason I stopped cosplaying.

Working on my Kankri cosplay, all I need is the make-up now.  Pictures taken by my moirail who changes their name so much that I don’t remember what it is on here.
